Hate to say it but they can possibly finish better than third.
If nothing else, they've clinched a winning season.
The Rockies are looking good.

And Holliday is my new MVP The man has carried this team all year nad has been absolutely incredible this month.
I don't either but anything is possible.
When is Holliday a FA ? And how much will that guy command ? Dude is a beast......getting better every year still
I believe the correct wording of the question is "When will Holliday be a Yankee?"

Holliday will be a FA in 2010 and is currently is making $4.4 million. The Rockies are not dumb enough to let him go. Helton has been their main product and Holliday is taking over.
I'm pretty sure I remember reading somewhere that Holliday wanted out of Colorado and didn't want to stay there.
Of course, that was last year and a lot can change in 4 years, especially after the success he's had this year.

The Rockies could beg him to stay, but ultimately, the decision belongs to Holliday alone. That said, my guess is that he will stay put, like Travis Hafner did in Cleveland.
It's not that Holliday asked to leave, he simply said he didn't think he would be in a Colorado uniform past '09. He has Boras as an agent which makes Holliday a psychic. I cannot see a GM being dumb enough to let a guy like Holliday go. Look at those numbers and he plays good defense too. The Rockies have a window to make some noise and get to the playoffs before 2010.
"let him leave"
in the end it's his decision.
If the Yankees offer him 25 mil/year I wouldn't blame the Rockies for moving on.
Not that I'm suggesting he'll be offered that much, just saying.

Ultimately it will really be how much he is offered. The owners of the Rockies (The Monforts) are a joke to any in-the-know Rockie fan. I HIGHLY doubt that he will be resigned because he simply will be demanding market price. The Monforts are a bunch of money grubbing whores.
