The Rockies just swept the Padres to help their playoff chances. Holliday goes down and Hawpe takes his place as he owned the Friars this weekend. Exciting race here guys.

I would actually love to see this club get into the post season. They have had only one playoff appearnce and that was in '93. They are do for a playoff shot and plus I love seeing new blood get into the playoffs. This is one team in the NL that I would root for considering I watch them often because they are the only team on TV in Idaho.

Their first and only playoff appearance was actually in '95. Their first season was 93. This team is red hot but Holliday is day to day. It would be great for the game if they did make it in.

I expect Holliday to be back on Tuesday. BUT, I still don't see the Rockies realistically making it. They are 1.5 back with 7 games left against the dbacks and dodgers. I think it's just too lil too late.

Ultimately it will really be how much he is offered. The owners of the Rockies (The Monforts) are a joke to any in-the-know Rockie fan. I HIGHLY doubt that he will be resigned because he simply will be demanding market price. The Monforts are a bunch of money grubbing whores.

That's why it's so tough every year to get excited about this team because the Monforts continue to dismantle the team once players get beyond their cheaper early contracts. It would be nice to see the core stick together for a few years. There is some real promise in this team if they are allowed to stick together.
