Rockies agreed to terms with infielder Kaz Matsui on a one-year deal.
Terms weren't disclosed, but $1.5 million-$2 million is a reasonable guess. Assuming that Troy Tulowitzki can secure the starting job at shortstop, Matsui will battle Jamey Carroll for playing time at second base. Clint Barmes appears to be little more than an afterthought right now.
