For the SEC college baseball tournament, the conference is going to experiment with a pitcher's clock. With the bases empty, a pitcher will have 20 seconds between pitches. If he takes longer, the umpire will call a ball. However, if the batter steps out in the last 5 seconds of the count, a strike will be called. There will be no clock when there are runners on base.

Also, teams will have 1 min-48 sec of break in between innings. If a team causes a delay, a ball or strike will be called depending on which team caused the delay.

This will be interesting to see how it pans out. Do you see it as a good thing to speed up the game? If it works, is it something the MLB should adopt?

Discuss.
