Twins take Carlos Gutierrez RHP from Miami. Already had Tommy John surgery, 6'3, 205 lbs, most teams viewed him as a 2nd rounder, quick to the big leagues, big sinker, not as consistent of a slider. Ranked 82nd by Baseball America coming into the draft.

Padres got two extra for Doug Brocail and Mike Cameron! Nice, love it.

Gerrit Cole RHP from high school to the Yankees. Comparable to Phil Hughes, power arm, breaking ball that needs to be developed, 6'3, 190 lbs.

From the video they showed, he looks like he has a good delivery.

Lonnie Chisenhall 3B from Pitt CC to the Indians, a guy who has had problems with the law in the past as he pleaded guilty to larceny. But Chris Singleton says that he should be "a quality pick".

They could've had another for Linebrink, but they loved them some Joe Thatcher.

Casey Kelly, RHP/SS, from Sarasota high school to the Red Sox, the son of Pat Kelly. Dude also played quarterback. 6'4, 190 lbs, about 4.6 speed to first base. Seems like he wants to play shortstop says Steve Phillips.

This is true. Oh well, we'll see what the Brewers do with it.

I don't really get the Redsox passing on Lance Lynn the RHP out of University Of Mississippi. They must not have much faith in Jed Lowrie.

Brewers have drafted some pitching and Cutter Dykstra (SS), the son of former major league, Lenny Dykstra. They say he is bigger and stronger than good ol' Dad. They say is meant for the big leagues. We shall see.

    Cole:

Poise:His makeup on the field can be an issue, as he gets animated with umpires and teammates at times.
Strengths:His projectability and his stuff, with the ability to throw three average to plus pitches, and to throw them for strikes.
    Weaknesses:
He has some mechanical issues with his delivery, with an arc in the back and a tendency to throw across his body; he gets too emotional on the mound.

This sounds to be a TERRIBLE delivery. He sounds to be completely set up for arm/back troubles, and his emotions are also a possible issue. Needs to mature, and make changes.
