CLEVELAND -- Scott Sauerbeck, a key left-hander in Cleveland's dominant bullpen, agreed to terms Monday on a one-year contract with the Indians.
Sauerbeck was 1-0 with a 4.04 ERA and appeared in 58 games last season for the Indians, who had the majors' best bullpen. The 33-year-old Sauerbeck, who had been eligible for free agency, was used mainly against lefties and held them to a .162 average.
Sauerbeck allowed only seven of 45 inherited runners (16 percent) to score, posting the league's fourth-best figure.
