I have no clue what the hell is wrong with Johnson anymore. He could be a good pickup if he returns to health since he is a OB machine. I think LaPorta will have his breakout season this year so don't see Johnson stealing any ABs away from him.FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that Nick Johnson has signed a minor league deal with the Indians.
We've heard very little about Johnson all offseason, which isn't surprising given that the injury-prone 32-year-old hit just .167 in only 24 games last year due to wrist problems. We're not sure what his health status is at the moment, but he gives the Tribe some insurance for Matt LaPorta at first base and Travis Hafner at DH. Of course, Johnson is closer to Bob's Insurance than Geico.
