He's 7 - 1 now with an ERA of 1.50. Obviously, he won't keep up that pace for the entire season. And I think too much emphasis is being placed on the fact that he's the "#5" pitcher. Clearly, they put him there because he didn't exactly light the world on fire last year with his 5 - 8 record and ERA over 6. He's already won more games this year than he did all of last year! He's better than he was last year and maybe they put him there to take some pressure off him.
