Basham with another good start. I know it's AA but I was always a fan of his, hopefully he'll get a promotion to AAA by the end of the season and put up similar results there. He must be 100% healthy now.

Pauly out for the rest of the season.
http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/a...milb&fext=.jspThomas Pauly, a prospect in the Reds system, first came into Spring Training and needed shoulder surgery. Unfortunately he's going to miss the entire year, which is a shame because he pitched exceptionally well last year in his first full season. He should be back for 2006. At least that's the hope for the Princeton product.

I dont think that he will be up to AAA soon. Hes in Sarasota right now and thats high A. I would think that he should get the call to Chattanooga soon I would hope. Hopefully he dominates AA and gets that late season call but I would doubt it.Originally Posted by missionhockey21

There's the Basham promotion.FARM REPORT: Bobby Basham, who was the Reds' No. 2-ranked prospect by Baseball America going into the 2003 season, is being promoted from Single-A Sarasota to Double-A Chattanooga.
He'll start for the Lookouts tonight. Basham is coming back from shoulder surgery.
Basham, the seventh-round pick in 2001, went 5-2 with a 3.75 ERA in the first half at Single-A Sarasota this season, earning the promotion.
"He's throwing very well," said Naehring.
"He's throwing strikes. His stuff is still coming around. We'd like to see the opponent batting average lower. But his arm feels good."

Kearns coming around? Classic kearns is gap to gap, doubles galore. So far in 5 games in the the 'ville he's hitting .391/.417/.609, with 5 doubles, 3 rbi, and 4 runs scored. And 3 k's! He's not walking that much, but give me that Kearns back, Please! The kearns who has fewer k's than doubles. With the reds this year he'd k'd 50 times, with 11 doubles.
Reds MVP Race
6: Arroyo, Harang
5: Kearns
4: Phillips
3: Dunn, Felo, Freel, Milton
2: Claussen, EdE, Griffey, Valentin
1: Aurilia, Hatteberg, Lizard, Larue, Shackelford
I wonder how much we can chalk that up to Kearns being determined to regain his old spot (or possibly his trade value so he can get outta town) or the fact that the pitchers down there don't have the quality of stuff or know exactly what Kearns has a liking for getting those K's.
Hopefully though the old Kearns is starting to emerge and he is regaining his confidence.

Hopefully he's getting his ego in check and smoking classic kearns doubles because he likes playing baseball.
