Guess Who's Back

And it should come as no surprise (Reds pitching)
Here is where our beloved Reds finished in terms of NL pitching. Even though this is expected, you may not want to view these if you have just recently had something to eat.
ERA: 5.15 (#16, yes we finished behind Colorado with the Cardinals going out wof Busch stadium with a bang)
CG: 2 (#16)
SHO: 1 (#16)
SV: 31 (#16)
K/9: 6.00 (#14)
WHIP: 1.50 (#15)
AVG: .290 (#16)
SLG%: .483 (#16)
OBP: .352 (#15)
It really is quite amazing how hard we have been hit. Despite having the top offense (and one that obviously hits for both homerun power and gap power) our offense only posted a .446 SLG% which is the tops in the NL yet our pitching let the bats against have a SLG% almost .04 higher.
Like the rest of you all here, I really loved watching our bats have at it but damn, imagine how different this season could of been if we had middle of the pack pitching? Let's just hope we get the arms that we need this offseason and do not dismantle one of the few things that without question was a tremendous success.

All you need is Boston type pitching with a Boston type offense (with a GM taking advantage of your park to make the playoffs...just need to make smart decisions with pitching. Like, not Eric Milton, but something either cheaper or better.

Give the Reds a staff full of 4.50 ERAs and they'll contend for a playoff spot.
