I guess we'll have to see if this was worth it for KC. Isn't Cueto a free agent after this season? Seems a lot to give up for three months, looks like the Royals are go big (WS champs) or bust. Then again at least somebody is making bold moves.
While they wind up being rentals more often than not KC does still gain the inside tract on getting him on a long term contract

Royals needed a front line starter and they get one without dealing Mondesi or Almonte. Kinda have to pull the trigger on something like that when you're a legitimate world series candidate in a clustered AL. Shots fired. Astros and Royals make the first biggest splashes, who saw that coming?
