Yea Cueto is a FA to be and he's looking for big money. I don't know what exactly what but the rumors are his agent was looking 20-30 mil.

Certainly, IF he provides an extra boost into the post season or even beyond, the play-off/WS money could come into play.

Royals needed a front line starter and they get one without dealing Mondesi or Almonte. Kinda have to pull the trigger on something like that when you're a legitimate world series candidate in a clustered AL. Shots fired. Astros and Royals make the first biggest splashes, who saw that coming?

Right now, the moves aren't really surprising but certainly before the season thinking these two teams were going to be the big players at this deadline never would have occurred to me.
