sort off the main list many reds fans have used Brad Ausmus? Was a finalist for the Boston job this past season. I just know I don't want Riggleman with the way he took his ball and went home on Washington and really lack of any other real success anywhere else he's been.

Let's start listing every possible candidates that come to mind:
1) Girardi (not going to happen)
2) Bryan Price (seems like a status quo move)
3) LaRussa (if this happened, let's just call us the Cardinals)
4) Brad Ausmus (no managerial experience)
5) Riggleman (managerial experience, but quit on a good Nats team)
6) Barry Larkin (I know that this one will start a firestorm, but something tells me that he might want to give it a shot. I could be wrong though)
7) Eric Wedge (uh, no)
8) Chris Speier (Dusty's underling, don't want it)

I love the idea of Larkin on the coaching staff, but is it too soon to place him in charge of the squad? I know there were thoughts of making him a player/coach toward the end of his playing days though too. I think it would be a great move for the city, but I would hate to have a bad parting with him if he wasn't ready to produce the results the organization is clearly expecting.
