The Reds have now locked up Bruce and Cueto and bought out three years of arbitration with Votto. Looks like the Reds will be saving a lot of money in the long run. Reds fans have to be happy.Enrique Rojas of ESPN Deportes reports that the Reds have agreed to a four-year, $27 million extension with Johnny Cueto.
The deal will cover all three of Cueto's arbitration-eligible seasons and his first year of free agency. The 24-year-old posted a strong 12-7 record, 3.64 ERA and 1.28 WHIP over 31 starts last season for the Reds, leading the club to it's first National League Central title since 1995. As long as his development continues, the extension should prove to be a real bargain.
