The top four guys in the Reds line-up won the game for them tonight. Great outing by all of them, except Aurilia, who just so happens to be a bum. On a different note, Kearns had an ugly four strikeout game.

    Freel: 3-4, 3 R, 2 RBI, BB, SB
    Lopez: 3-5, 3 R, 3 RBI, 2B
    Dunn: 2-3, 2 R, 2 RBI, 2 BB, 2B, HR
    Aurilia: 2-4, 3 RBI, 2 2B

That's some mighty fine production from the top four guys in the order, if you ask me.

neither kearns or pena are really upping their trade value right now, they must really love the reds.

But look at that Dunn getting the job done when batting 3rd(despite Aurilia behind him). I am stunned.

I find it absolutely pathetic that the Reds are starting Jacob Cruz instead of Denorfia.

    Denorfia doesn't bring that presence.

As of the bottom of the 6th inning of today's game, Edwin has reached base in all of his last 9 plate appearances, including a two-run homer to put the Reds on top 5-4 today. The kid has some serious power. 16 doubles, 9 homers in just over 200 ABs.

i like this kid a lot (EdE). I like what he's shown in his time up, he's reacted exactly how i would have wanted to all the initial struggles. I wish larkin was still around to mentor him. I hope he hangs out with Jr a lot.

The Reds set a new team record for homers in a season, breaking a 49-year-old record. Not too shabby.

I just got back from Midnight Madness here at UK. It was so cool. We were in the 3rd row and the Blue team beat the White team at the buzzer. It was loud and they had 3-point shooting contests and slam dunk contests.

When we were leaving the game, we went to Kroger. Before we did, we went by the dorm. all of the players stay in and saw a few(Rondo, Moss, etc.) and happened to see Tubby Smith going in for his end of the night meeting. He saw we had the poster, etc. they gave out at the game and asked it how we enjoyed it and we said: "A lot!" It was nice to see someone as prominent as him in person.

Also, I discovered that one of the players on the team is in my Stats. class and that I've sat next to him a few times and talked a little bit. I knew he was really tall, so I figured he played basketball, but I wasn't sure. I sent him a message through mail that I want him to help me get interviews from himself and the other players this season so I can get stuff in the newspaper about the team. Here is his bio...he's a freshman:

That's pretty cool man. You should buddy up with that guy so you have an easy in with the rest of the team for all your journalistic work.

I was getting worried for a while there, but good to see I was right about Marvin Lewis being overrated and clueless. The guy is not nearly as good as he's made out to be. Oh, and Bob Bratkowski is the WORST Offensive Coordinator in football. He is beyond predictable.
