    Contract the franchise...please.

Fire this coach and end the nightmare.

    The Reds can join them.

And that basically does it in terms of the Bengals' playoff hopes.

They prove yet again to not be playoff worthy.

Eric Mangini's Jets are, however, after a CLUTCH field goal.

The chances of the Jets losing at home to Oakland AND the Bengals beating the Steelers are very low.

I'm glad most Bengals fans love Marvin Clueless and his (8-8) teams, because we could see a lot of him with that guy running things.

He is one of the most overrated coaches I've ever seen, just as Bob Thuggins was.

By the way, I'll be here all week for tips and kudos, since it looks I will yet again be proven right, though I wish I weren't in this instance.

I just know what the "L-scalator Bungals" are like as a franchise.

If it helps, I am a Saints fan and I have been enduring this same feeling for years. The exception is this year of course but I know where you are coming from. And to top it off, I am a Reds fan too. Oh the pain!

I'm a Raider fan that wants to throw my head through the nearest wall as I see all the people who still believe in Shell.

CRF, name me a coach NOT currently employed by an NFL franchise that you would rather have over Marvin Lewis. The plain and simple fact is that for every coach you name, currently coaching or not, I can name several weak points about their coaching abilities.

Carson must be doing something right if he made the pro bowl after shredding his knee less than a year ago.

I'm not talking about coaches outside the NFL because they aren't relevant to NFL coaching right now.

    In the NFL:

    Sean Payton
    Andy Reid
    Jeff Fisher
    Eric Mangini
    Brian Billick
    Bill Belichick
    Marty Schottenheimer
    Mike Shanahan
    Lovie Smith
    John Fox
    Bill Parcells
    Mike Holmgren
    Bill Cowher
    Tony Dungy

I have a question for you CRF. If you want to fire Marvin, who would you hire? Obviously you wouldn't be able to go after the list of coaches you just mentioned as they are all firmly entrenched in their franchise. I am just curious as to who you think may be a good fit in Cincinnati......give me a list of your top 5 (maybe from college coaching choices that Cincy could get to come to the NFL, or some NFL assistants)

Sean Payton - let's see what he does in the next couple seasons before we jump on his bandwagon.

Andy Reid - has done nothing in the playoffs

Jeff Fisher - has done nothing the past few seasons

Eric Mangini - same as Payton

Brian Billick - was going to be fired if he didn't have a good season

Bill Belichick - ok, I'll give you this one

Marty Schottenheimer - doesn't suck that he has Merriman and L.T.

    Mike Shanahan - consistently underachieves

Lovie Smith - gives man love to a vastly underachieving Rex Grossman

John Fox - what has he done in Carolina?

Bill Parcells - what has he done in Dallas?

Mike Holmgren - has done nothing since he left Green Bay

Bill Cowher - went from Super Bowl to toilet bowl in one year

Tony Dungy - has done nothing with Indy, especially defensively

    bipster, you're misssing the point.

I'm not saying there's anyone to replace Lewis.

I wouldn't have hired him in the first place, which shows my point about how pathetic the franchise is to begin with to hire him.

    Payton comment: Empty conjecture/argument

Reid: He has done a lot more than Lewis, which is what you asked me about. He also helped Garcia and crew get to the playoffs this year

Fisher: Similar to Reid, but earlier on

    Mangini: Empty comment

Billick: Red herring- won a Super Bowl

    Belichick: No duh

    Schottenheimer: Red herring

Shanahan: Similar to Reid and Fisher

Love Smith: Getting team to playoffs again with great record

John Fox: More than Lewis to say the least

Parcells: Super Bowl winning coach and playoffs this year as well

Holmgren: Got to Super Bowl last year...lots of deep playoff trips

Cowher: Consistent overall for such a long tenure; Super Bowl Champion

    Dungy: Red herring/more than Lewis

Mick Cronin is the only coach in town now who is worth anything when it comes down to it, which I think will be quite evident in a couple years.
