They said that his fastball was consistently between 100 and 103 with a 90-91 mph slider. That's filthy. Just hope he doesn't blow out the elbow.

Reds traded for Willie Bloomquist from KC. Postseason roster eligibility or not, I thought there was no trading after August 31?

If a player clears waivers he can be traded after Aug.31, any player acquired after that date is ineligible for the post season.

I am not thrilled about the move, but it was done just to keep Cairo out of the outfield, hopefully, because the Reds are thin right now.
