The Reds were somehow rumored to be in on the Gary Matthews Jr. deal in some form or fashion.
The thought was that it was going to be a 3 team deal for a while. C Trent Rosecrans even got an email from the Reds entitled "Bronson Arroyo." But that just turned out to be something about his efforts toward Haiti relief.
Anyhow, obviously it only ended up being a two team deal. Thank God! If we lost Arroyo only to get Matthews Jr, it would have been a tragedy.

So far, so good versus Cleveland. Arroyo pitches today as the Reds go for the sweep before the Reds have to face the Phillies beginning tomorrow and eventually, Doc Halladay.

LeCure is being sent down for Bill Bray. Bray has only given up like 3 hits, while striking out 16 in about 10 innings of work at Louisville. Nice to have another lefty for Philly.

Huge win last night. Arroyo pitched a masterful game, Rhodes got out of BIG trouble, and then Cordero brings the 97 mph fastball for the called strikeout to end the game. Beautiful.
