CINCINNATI -- He might have heard the name in passing at some point along the line, but to Adam Dunn, Joe Randa was pretty much a mystery when the Reds signed him over the winter.
"When I first met Joe in the spring, I honestly didn't know who he was," Dunn said.
By the time the spectacle that is Opening Day came around, Dunn was wrapping the former stranger in his arms with a bear-hug greeting during player introductions.
And when Randa crossed the plate after smacking a walk-off home run to give the Reds a wild 7-6 win over the Mets in a finish that will now live in Cincinnati's Opening Day lore, Randa had officially ensured that not only Dunn, but an entire town, will know his name.
