Reds Opening Day Lineup...

First I want to let it be known that Tavares is sick with the flu which is why he isn't starting.

I am truely beginning to wonder if one night Dickerson took a big ole crap in either Walt's or Duhhhsty's office right after he got called up. The guy couldnt get a start in CF over Freaking Corey "I can't hit .200" Patterson last year. Now he gets ousted from opening day from a guy who had a career obp of .331... as a minor leaguer.

And yes Duhhsty could be manuever by a little league coach.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, I'd say he isn't starting because Johan Santana is the opponent.

Even with that being the case I would still perfer Dickerseon out there than a glorified AAAA player like McDonald just to give Dickerson a chance to prove whether last Aug/Sept was a fluke or we have a solid contributor on the team that was just a late bloomer.

Not to mention where McDonald is batting for a guy with a career .331 obp as a minor leaguer.

Oh it's not necessarily that as you well know. But, if someone was going to struggle right out of the shoot I would just as soon it be McDonald going 0-3 and be pinch hit for by Dickerson later in the game then to have Dickerson K 2 or 3 times against Santana. That's all

I would much prefer Dickerson get the nod with what he has accomplished, but I think McDonald will have a nice game. Opening Day, blood pumping, I think he will do fine before he comes back down to earth. Of course now he will k 4 and e 2.

I'd rather go with the guy who might have some potential vs. going with stopgap junk regardless of who is pitching and what day it is. But it seems as reds manager, Dusty Baker likes those types. I think he'd blow up if someone flashed him a OBP card
