Random Bill Bavasi given an Isiah-like Role?

Bill Bavasi joins Reds front office | reds.com: Official Info

Bavasi, who had been known for questionable personnel decisions in Seattle has been brought in to Cincinnati(according to a Press Release on reds.com) as a "Special Advisor to Walt Jocketty".

Fortunately, for the Reds, I don't think Jocketty is dumb enough to listen to some of Bavasi's dumb moves, so this could have a positive effect, but I don't think he'll be able to have too much of a negative effect.

I was always taught in math class that multiplying 2 negatives makes a positive. Last i checked Jocketty is a negative and in my opinion Bavasi is a negative therefore wont they become a positive?

What makes Jocketty a negative? He seemed to put together good teams in Saint Louis...

Folks, I present to you the organization that thought giving Bronson Arroyo an extension, despite having 2 years on his current deal left, that believes Corey Patterson should make the roster on a MLB team, that acts mystified that 2008 1st round selection does not want slot money despite being regarded through out all media outlets as a 7 million dollar plus bonus and the organization that hired Dusty Baker to do it "Dusty's Way." Given our lengthy connection to successful people in baseball, let's bring in another notoriously successful baseball person to continue building our Yankee like empire of losing.

He has only been here a couple months, I'd give him a little time. I was wondering about the status of Alonso, I haven't really seen much on him. Is their any chance we sign him soon?

The guy has only been GM for what, 4 months? Give him a year or so to see what he does

someone on the other site I posted on suggested maybe this is Cast's next gm when Jocketty says I dont want this in the offseason?

The only positive thing about this could be that Castelinni is opening his checkbook to anything. Knowing Jocketty can get it right, we may see a great offseason this year.

The negative would be Slyder's thoughts coming to fruition. Jocketty better be here to stay.

I think Castallini is going to open his checkbook...i mean he spent a ton on Cordero. I dont think Walt would want to be in Cincy if they werent thinking of adding to the payroll.
