all a PR move. the damage has been done. unfortunately for Ricciardi, in the "heat of the moment," the truth is usually spoken. we all know what he thinks.
Tracy Jones pointed out that this could save the Reds some money.. because even if its not true.. the stigma could be there for others teams.. which could lower his Market Price allowing the Reds to sign him cheaper..
then again what one idiot says about someone doesn't always do as much damage as you would think.. but its a possibility..
anyway.. next week the Reds will be in Toronto.. so it should get brought back up again.. I'd like to see what Baker said come to life and Dunn just murder them.. but i doubt it will happen..
I made that same point so I don't know if that's just wishful thinking or a possibility. But you couldn't find a more consistent .900+ OPS player that gets ragged on more than Dunn so maybe things like this will hurt the value of him enough to make it pointless for the Reds to dump him off in his prime years.
And I would love to see Dunn mash against Toronto. He had a scare with his little boy about the time his hot streak was over so maybe this will get him back on track and hitting.

Riccairdi supposedly apologized to the Reds organization and Dunn today.
agreed on both accounts for sure.. i mean i have ragged on him in the past.. but push comes to shove I would rather have him then not.. he may not be the most consistant player throughout the season.. but he is from season to season.. playing in just about every game.. and hitting 40 HR's.. i just want some better players around him.. the Reds have made strides in that area with Votto and Bruce.. plus having a hitter like Kep would be helpfull.. the team right now doesn't need more offense as much as more Consistant offense.. and dropping a guy who consitantly hits 40 HR's is a step in the wrong direction..
Its going to be an interesting next three weeks.

Trades start heating up
embarrassing, unprofessional, idiotic! those are a few words to describe him.
Dunn rejected his apology, good for him. He can see through the BS, the fact that Riccardi was forced to apology, and he won't accept it.

good for Dunn, shouldn't have to accept some half-ass forced apology
