lets all join hands and rejoice!
actually I wouldn't mind him being a pinch runner and defensive replacement and when he did get a spot start to bat 8th but atleast now Dusty cant put him in the leadoff position every night!

"Don't cry, we're grilling JTM with Chris Welsh after the game."
Per Rotoworld:
Reds optioned OF Corey Patterson to Triple-A Louisville.
Let the rejoicing begin in Cincinnati. The team decided that the best way to make sure that Dusty Baker didn't play Patterson over Jay Bruce was to take the toy away. He hit .200 with 4 homers and 8 eight stolen bases in 45 games for the Reds.Someone surely an odd Yankee fanboy of Andy Phillips is rejoicing.Reds purchased the contract of INF Andy Phillips from Triple-A Louisville
Phillips was hitting .315 with five homers and 22 RBI in 40 games at Louisville. He's ultimately replacing Scott Hatteberg on the roster, and will backup Joey Votto.

Well, the Reds went about eliminating a huge hole in the lineup the past couple of days.
Now, Belisle is the next one that needs to be voted off the island.

Don't forget the other transaction: Alex Gonzalez was transferred to the 60 day DL. That probably means we will never see him in a Reds uni again. Great acquisition.

YES! Sorry CRF, I know this takes you at a surprise, but I love it! Now Freel doesn't have to demand a trade. This is very good news for this team IMO.
I don't care just so long as he's not released. This might actually work well; he gets a chance to work on his hitting with less pressure. He's appeared to press a lot recently. Then maybe he can get his offense up to near his career norms and provide his extremely high-quality defense when appropriate.

Homer: We're proud of you, boy.
Bart: Thanks, Dad. But part of this D-minus belongs to God.
Where do you suggests he plays if he does get things going with the bat and comes back up?
I don't mind Patterson on the bench, its the Patterson in Dusty's mind you have to fear haha.

I suggest he plays whenever any other outfielder needs a day off (and Griffey in particular could probably use more of those). He can bat low in the order now and of course enter as a defensive substitute later in games.

Thats how he should be used, but there is no guarantee that would happen. Don't get me wrong, I like Dusty as the manager. He just has an odd fascination with batting Patterson lead off.

I think he ould be decent as a 5th outfielder option. Freel is the 4th IMO. Patterson should NEVER start a game unless an emergency exists. But he would be an awesome option as a defensive replacement for Griffey late in the game.
love it.. because with him on the bench there is always a threat that Dusty is going to work him into the lineup and even worse, put him at Leadoff.
