Dunn gets the leadoff walk. My point will be proven here. I said earlier the only way he scores is with a HR today. 7-8-9 in the order is horrific. Of course, that depends on if he gets to 2B and if Dusty uses a good pinch hitter in the situation.

Ross sac bunt to advance Dunn. Weird bunt getting it right off the plate as he couldn't do that again to save his life.
Hairston to pich hit now. So Dunn may very well score
Hairston pops out to Martinez. 2 outs. That is 7 pop outs for the Reds today.
Ok, I forgot about the double switch. Votto is up now...
Votto takes the walk. Thank God Patterson isn't up.
Freel grounds out to 3rd. 3 outs. Time for CoCo to close it out.
Sizemore flies out to Griffey. 1 out
Carroll strikes out swinging! 2 outs
Hafner in to pinch hit, and Cordero wanted nothing to do wtih him. 4 straight balls.
Martinez coming up as the potential tying run and I am nervous.
Got him! Great battle ther but CoCo gets the K and the save
6 in a row fellas! This is sick. And just what we needed. Volquez with another good outing, but it was the offense that showed up in an unlikely scenario. Lee lost his first game against a team that regularly does not hit left handed pitching at all. Big HRs from Dunn and Votto put us on the map.
Shaky bullpen of late, but luckily we have been able to produce just enough offense to remedy it. 6 in a row! 6 in a row! 6 in a row!
MVP: Dunn
It really could be worse. Your team could be the Padres, Giants, or Rockies, or Nationals.
I want to welcome any lurkers to join us on the site. We can get some good gamethreads going if you would like.
Our offense certainly started slow, but I'd take it over the defense, particularly the outfield defense minus Patterson, any day of the week. I still don't think many understand how truly bad the outfield defense is when Patterson's not in there. I mean they tax the starters and eventually the relievers and allow tons of runs that wouldn't score with better defense.

Bart: Thanks, Dad. But part of this D-minus belongs to God.
Freel has played some very poor outfield defense this year. He will still make that occasional nice catch, but he has taken poor jumps and hasn't been positioned very well. Case in point that ball that blooped in against Burton, who shouldn't have had that happen.
And how did Janish, Dunn, Votto, etc. have some nice AB and walk today? Not possible with Dusty as the manager. They just clogged the bases. I can't believe he hasn't corrected that big problem yet.
Talk about a quote mischaracterized; the "base clogger" comment fits the bill perfectly in that way.
