But youre cancelling out any value Patterson has over Freel by putting yourself in a hole by not only having 1 guarenteed out coming up in the 9th hole but shooting yourself in the foot by putting the worst hitting outfielder in the next spot.

I agree with you here. And our offense is what has been hurting us this season. Not defense. So improving your offense by playing Freel over Patterson should be the way to go. Good point. Not to mention, Freel can cover some ground out there as well.
