A bag of balls and a "decent" spect for Hatte and Junior?

Man I am going to miss Junior. But it is the right thing to do.
George. Kenneth. Griffey.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.
Ah, give me something clever to say here.
Are the Reds at least going to wait until Junior hits #600 before trading him?
(Although that might take like a month the way things are going.)
500 is the biggie for most fans (I think) and he did it as a Red. Along with 400. Griffey's either "lost it" or is pressing for 600 and struggled all year. Maybe a change of scenary to somewhere can help him get things going. It's a shame his time in Cincy has been as it was. Maybe the curse of Lou Piniella? j/k. Honestly though I thought for sure that Junior would at least mean a couple division titles if not more.
His legs are shot and he doesnt have any range it seems now. Before he took good angles to most balls which helped make up for it but now he's not even getting to the semi tough ones. His legs just wont let him. He's pretty much turned into Edgar Martinez IMO.

They won't trade him before 600. There are too many marketing efforts around it and he's too close for them to deal him off before giving the fans that memory.
As for trading him, personally I think it's all wishful thinking, to the Mariners that is. The Reds are not going to give him away, regardless of his current value. The Mariners are playing pathetic right now and I could only see them giving up a worthwhile prospect if they were in it. They might want fan nostalgia, but I don't think they want it at the cost of the farm. This is one of Dusty's guys as they have a rapport and Dusty like his star veteran OF and I just don't see Jocketty giving that away unless the deal was good as Dusty would likely not be too happy over that. If the Reds stay out of it, Griff will be shipped.... I just don't think it will be to the Mariners. Griffey wants to win, he'll use those 10-5 rights to go to somewhere to win a World Series, not just to feel beloved in Seattle again.
Also, Bavasi isn't as crazy as people make him out to be... at least he isn't crazy enough to give up a Jeff Clement type prospect as some have suggested.

I think Mariners fans deserve to see 600 more than Reds fans. Let's face it, most Reds fans have given him crap ever since he's been here. Last night was evidence that he needs to go back to Seattle and DH.
As far as whether or not he's lost it, I think he is pressing more than anything. He's trying to do too much since the Reds are losing.

By the way, WKRC reported that Seattle is trying to figure out the "logistics" of bringing Junior back. They want to fill seats and think Junior might do that.

Interesting he isn't in the lineup tonight either...
Things wasn't all sunshine and roses when he was in Seattle, especially toward the end (even before his request for a trade.) They were better in Cincy, but no, I think Reds fans... given the massive cash spent and the legacy that was to be written that never was fully deserves to see 600 in GABP. They can have 700 if Griffey has it left in his tank.
And I agree, I think a lot of this is him simply pressing for both 600 and for the offense overall. Obviously his bat speed has declined some and he is older, no longer a 50 homerun guy, but he still has enough of a stroke to hit 30 for the next couple of seasons pretty easily IMO (more so if he relieved the stress on his legs.)
