With his contract size, yes, he very much is the long term solution (like it or not). End of discussion.

We will see if this is a trend or an aberration given Phillips' DtD.

Good to see Patterson his getting splinters tonight. He had a horrible game yet again this morning. I see no reason for him to do anything but waste roster space until Jocketty figures out that he is not worth playing at all and does something about it.

Or that he makes it so that Dusty CANT put Patterson in the lineup. I have no problem with him being a 5th outfielder but don't we have guys at AAA that basically are scouted as doing the same for less (Dickerson) sitting at AAA?

I am very tired of blaming managers every year and I hope that Dusty can change the pace of that. But what has he done good so far?

His only potential negative so far has been batting orders. And even those have been mostly understandable, particularly in light of the poor hitting until recently.

I like his PH moves, bullpen moves (speed of them, etc.) and other decisions. Unlike Narron, I don't worry that players like Castro will PH for our best players, and I don't feel we will have a struggling reliever out there just long enough to blow a game very often. And he certainly hasn't overworked starters.

Guess he got that putting out a semi likable lineup out of his system for the next couple weeks.

Should I even ask your opinion of yesterday's 9th inning? Do you guys blame David Ross, Corey Patterson, Dusty, or all 3?

I blame none of them because we all know Patterson would have just gotten out again and Ross just saved him the embarrassment.

True. But he didn't save anyone from the jokes. Such as: Corey Patterson is now making outs without even stepping to the plate.

Eight runs so far tonight with that lineup.

And my premise remains. You run that lineup out there as is for any length of period tonight will be the outlier. You know you suck when you can have a career night (4 hits that might have gone a total 400 ft) and still barely be getting on base 25% of the time. Please call up Bruce or Dickerson and put Patterson out his and Dusty's misery.
