I have been listening to the radio this morning and Mark Amazon was talking about the Big Hurt. He thinks he would be a good fit in the Nati. I don't see it. Votto is our second best hitter and I wouldn't sit him for Thomas ever.
Plus, Thomas left the Jays on account of not getting enough playing time. Why would he want to sit the bench with the Reds?
Then you think about how everyone is crying for a RHB. Well C Trent explains the idiocy of that idea:
The offense as a whole needs to start hitting. But Frank Thomas is not the answer. For all the talk of the Reds needing right-handed bats, their left-handed bats haven't been so good. In the series against the Brewers, left-handed hitters for the Reds had one hit off Brewer starters -- all right-handed pitchers. The lone hit by a left-handed hitter against a Brewer starter in the series was a double by Adam Dunn in the second inning of Saturday's game against Jeff Suppan.
