Ok moves have been apparently on DanO's plate lately. With the recent injuries and releases, there have been a lot of new faces. Players like Romano have got the call up and should not be here. So we have to figure out when we think it is possible to send Bergolla and Romano vack down.
Also, should we keep Keisler in the bullpen and really try and get a look at him for a while? Has Weathers been good enough to become the closer? Or should Wagner and Mercker get a shot?
Here is my take:
Hope is my big word of the night. So, "Hopefully" Randa is back in the lineup tomorrow. "Hopefully" Casey is not actually hurt. I truly "hope" he is back in the lineup by Game Three of the Pirates series, but if not, he better be on the DL by tomorrow. That will allow us to send down Romano right away. We have to "hope" that LaRue's hand is ok as he was just starting to hit. These things need to happen in order to keep Valentin and Cruz from starting. To get Freel back at 2B and Bergolla on the bench. Then I "hope" Pena is back this series to take the outfield position voided by Dunn's need at 1B until Casey is back. This again could get Cruz out of the starting lineup and will put a huge bat in the lineup. This also should allow Bergolla to go back to Louisville.
I "hope" Aurilia gets released soon and L. Lopez can take the backup infielder position for now. Maybe he can become the Castro of last season. But "hopefully" slightly better. Our position players and lineup could look like this.
Freel 2B
F. Lopez SS
Griffey CF
Dunn 1B
Pena LF
Randa 3B
Kearns RF
LaRue C
Cruz OF
L. Lopez IF
Valentin C
Casey (injury)
Casey's injury looks so much better if Pena is back in the lineup.
Then the pitching. I "hope" Harang gets a start this series as he was skipped due to a flu. It may get him out of rythm if he is 10 games between starts. Rotation for this series "hopefully" looks like this Ortiz/Harang/Ramirez/Milton. With Claussen starting the following series. Our rotation should be set with that while Wilson is on the DL.
The bullpen could use some work though. "Hopefully" a Weber release is first on the chart. Then I "hope" Wagner gets more of an opportunity to earn the closer's job than anyone. He has earned it IMO. If he does not work out, then Mercker "hopefully" is our second option. Our rotation and bullpen could be set up like this.
Harang
Ramirez
Milton
Claussen
Ortiz
Belisle LRP
Stone MRP/LRP
Weathers MRP
Keisler MRP
Coffey MRP
Mercker SU
Wagner CL
Wilson (injured)
