    Lots of things going on.

Ok moves have been apparently on DanO's plate lately. With the recent injuries and releases, there have been a lot of new faces. Players like Romano have got the call up and should not be here. So we have to figure out when we think it is possible to send Bergolla and Romano vack down.

Also, should we keep Keisler in the bullpen and really try and get a look at him for a while? Has Weathers been good enough to become the closer? Or should Wagner and Mercker get a shot?

    Here is my take:

Hope is my big word of the night. So, "Hopefully" Randa is back in the lineup tomorrow. "Hopefully" Casey is not actually hurt. I truly "hope" he is back in the lineup by Game Three of the Pirates series, but if not, he better be on the DL by tomorrow. That will allow us to send down Romano right away. We have to "hope" that LaRue's hand is ok as he was just starting to hit. These things need to happen in order to keep Valentin and Cruz from starting. To get Freel back at 2B and Bergolla on the bench. Then I "hope" Pena is back this series to take the outfield position voided by Dunn's need at 1B until Casey is back. This again could get Cruz out of the starting lineup and will put a huge bat in the lineup. This also should allow Bergolla to go back to Louisville.

I "hope" Aurilia gets released soon and L. Lopez can take the backup infielder position for now. Maybe he can become the Castro of last season. But "hopefully" slightly better. Our position players and lineup could look like this.

    Freel 2B
    F. Lopez SS
    Griffey CF
    Dunn 1B
    Pena LF
    Randa 3B
    Kearns RF
    LaRue C

    Cruz OF
    L. Lopez IF
    Valentin C
    Casey (injury)

Casey's injury looks so much better if Pena is back in the lineup.

Then the pitching. I "hope" Harang gets a start this series as he was skipped due to a flu. It may get him out of rythm if he is 10 games between starts. Rotation for this series "hopefully" looks like this Ortiz/Harang/Ramirez/Milton. With Claussen starting the following series. Our rotation should be set with that while Wilson is on the DL.

The bullpen could use some work though. "Hopefully" a Weber release is first on the chart. Then I "hope" Wagner gets more of an opportunity to earn the closer's job than anyone. He has earned it IMO. If he does not work out, then Mercker "hopefully" is our second option. Our rotation and bullpen could be set up like this.

    Harang
    Ramirez
    Milton
    Claussen
    Ortiz

    Belisle LRP
    Stone MRP/LRP
    Weathers MRP
    Keisler MRP
    Coffey MRP
    Mercker SU
    Wagner CL
    Wilson (injured)

Lets hope Wily Mo can get back and really spark the offense.

has there been any word about WMP. last word i had heard was when they said he wasn't ready to come off DL.

No doubte we do not want Valentin and Cruz in the lineup everday...

I really hope Weathers isn't the closer of choice... Miley said that he was going to go Bullpen by comittee, which means who ever is Hot gets the shot.. Weathers has been pitching well. so its his job for now.. but if Wags heats up, then he will get his shot.

The last I read was that Wily Mo will do a rehab next week, so he's still at least a week away.

I think Wagner should get a shot at the closer role. He is the man and has been lights out well in the beginning of the year he was, he needs to get back on track. I really like this Keisler guy. In his first outting he looked like he knew what he was doing. I also think if Ramirez has a bad outting that they should see how Steve Kelly would do. He is pitching really good this year in AAA. 3-1 record with a 2.31 ERA. He has a 40-21 record in 90 starts in professional baseball, has never had a losing season and carries an ERA of 3.04. just some interesting tidbits about this guy. Romano shouldn't be back here. Im sure we can find some other scrub who can bat off the bench for us and be a back up from the new developed Felipe Lopez.

Actually you must have missed Kelly's last start. He is now 4-1 with a 1.83 ERA. Even better. I have been following what I can of the minors, getting email updates mostly, and Kelly seems to give a good performance everytime. I have been calling for the call up of Keisler, Booker and Kelly for awhile.

We all have around here. Booker and Kelly should definitely be next on the depth chart no doubt. If an injury comes or with a Coffey or Keisler struggle, we may see them soon.

But if you are dave miley and see how Elizardo Ramirez is not even close to being ready for the majors. after his SHITTY start if u can call it that. How far does it take for Miley to call up Kelly. Kelly i think might have a chance to make a slight difference in this rotation. Ramierez is just stinking it up out there and should be sent to AAA or A whatever comes better lol give this kid a shot!!!

I did like Ramirez's first start. But he has failed lately. I wonder if it is not time to send him back down for Kelly. But Kelly still is not on the 40 man roster.
