Ideal lineup for Bailey's debut?

CF Hamilton (I know it's not perfect, but with his plate patience and adequate enough speed, more than Hatte, it works for me)
LF Dunn
RF Griffey
3B Ed E (He's been raking lately, hitting close to .500 since he was called back up)
2B Phillips
1B Hatteberg
SS Gonzalez (I can't take Castro much longer, get better Gonzo)
C Ross

The order is trivial because no matter what we want, Narron will run out something much different, I think the group of players to come out on the field though (assuming they are all healthy) is what I am hoping for. Bailey needs the top bats out there, because then if he doesn't dominate, we can hope we're still in the game as that won't hurt his confidence near as much as feeling like the game was all riding on him.

Yep he needs the best lineup possible to enable the best quality results for himself. He needs run support early. I like the lineup, pretty much stacks up everything for us. I hope the entire team gets its rest before this game and they all have their heads in the game. For nothing else but to help boost Bailey's confidence. Allow him to just go out there and throw and not have to worry about taking a loss.

I am really hoping for Bailey's sake (and out sanity) that this team can squeeze out a win before Friday, in a sell-out game against the Indians to kick off the weekend, the team doesn't need to be adding on to his certain stress.

I am hoping he can do fine. I remember how Hughes did for his debut in Yankee satdium. He had a no-no going before he got hurt. In Yankee stadium. Bailey is poised already, hopefully he can start off with a bang and get some early Ks to bury some jitters.

The Indians lineup is just so filthy though. Guys like Pronk, Sizemore and Martinez in GABP is not a comforting thought ever.

I will be there (tickets in the mezzanine my friends got today) so I hope he is good in his debut. Plus I don't want to have him suck and have to listen to the same fans that bash Dunn and Edwin all the time telling Homer how bad he pitched.

But that lineup is definitely optimal. I think Jerry likes Castro a lot though, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if he is in the lineup.

Not unless he starts to hit better. Since he came back he just hasn't been impressive so might need to work off the bench. Hopper is playing good i think.

well with Cliff Lee a Lefty on the Mound I will bet money Hamilton doesn't start, which suck since it is my first game of the year and i have wanted to see him play..

Hughes pitched his first game against Toronto at Yankee Stadium, gave up 4 runs and lost. His near no-no was start #2 in Texas.

I think you are close. But Conine will bat cleanup still. EdE is 4 for 4 tonight and I still bet Conine bats cleanup. Castro will likely be in there still as well.

3 lefties in a row? This is my fav lineup (with injuries) but it will never happen

Three lefties would be a concern, and if Dunn wasn't so strong at #2, Griffey wasn't locked in at #3 and Hamilton being about the choice to leadoff given my lineup... I would stick Griffey inbetween Hamilton and Dunn somehow since Griffey has been balanced between righties and lefties (with actually a better OPS versus lefties by a bit), Hamilton is the only one who hits so poorly against lefties that with Lee on the mound, he should maybe sit until a righty comes in. His power is severely diminished when there is a lefty out there, but then again, he loves playing at GABP (1.000+ OPS.)

Your lineup is pretty solid, but personally I think Griffey has to be left at #3, it seems like an issue of comfort related to confidence and thusly related to performance... he loves to hit there and the results are showing.
