Mission, I don't think Hopper has made anything look moronic.

    Not good minor league numbers.

Despite a good night tonight, up to a .750 OPS in limited AB. Could drop below .700 just as fast.

Just a hot streak in all likelyhood.

Bart: Thanks, Dad. But part of this D-minus belongs to God.

And whether he is for real or not, I have to say that Norris Hopper has made any snarky comments I've had to say about him recently look pretty moronic (sans that play last night that despite what Chris and George said, was a big boo-boo on his part.)
he had good numbers in AAA, he just needs to play everyday. It's rough to get a start every 2 weeks and pinch hit once every 3 games and be affective.

Griffey with a strike swinging. Taken low. Grounds one to 2B on ball 2. Thrown out. 1 out.

What were Hoppers numbers in AAA? I assumed they were decent, or he would not have been called up. I thought he got hurt in spring training.

Nice work Harang! God I am glad he is showing his old self.

I think the Astros have a lot to be excited about with Pence. I think he was one of the best power bats in the minor leagues last season. But if he did put on some weight, look out!

Hopper's future is as a pinch-runner and late inning pinch hitter. He hits for a good average with no power at all, hence the low OPS. I think that might have been his first walk of the season earlier today. He would be nice to bring in with RISP to pinch hit for Ross or the pitcher this season.

    Hopper's minor league OPS over his last few stops: .688, .654, .722, .735, .770

Conine flies out to CF. 2 outs.

Pence calling everyone off, even though there is no one within 3 acres of him. 2 down.

I'd take Ross over Hopper any day.

Dunn bloops one to LF but Ensberg makes and over-the-shoulder catch.

    4-1 Reds, Mid. 7th.

Those OPS numbers are unacceptable for an outfielder. If he could play shortstop it would be OK. He would have usefulness as a pinch hitter and runner though.

I wasn't sending my nomination into Cooperstown for him, but the fact is bad players sometimes play beyond their numbers and their expectations for an AB, a game, a week, etc and as much as I disliked the move... it's worked for the past two nights since our options really are drastically limited (other than moving Griffey to center, Conine to right and witnessing the worst defensive outfield ever.)

We have yet to solve the ridiculously complicated riddle that is Dave "Borky" Borkowski.

That is a lot better than him not saying anything with players on both sides of him creeping in. Which happens far too often with professional baseball players. I would be drastic as well to ensure I am heard.

Get 'em on, get 'em over, get 'em in.

If I made a one man drinking game out of this, what's the over/under on me being dead within the hour watching the FSN broadcast?
