If you can say that about any baseball player, you can say that about Ryan, that's for sure.

    Griffey is in for Freel.
I don't think Freel kept hold of the ball, if you watch close when Hopper came over to him it looked as if he put the ball back into Freel's glove.

I didn't catch that, I was just going off of what George said. But it sounds likely for sure.

3-0 Reds bottom of the 7th. Lohse looking good, or is it The Pirates are tired from all the running around the bases they have done the past 3 days.

Lohse has indeed looked good today, he has battle back from some tough jams to boot. I really hate these Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde starts from him, never have I seen a pitcher that can get you so excited to see him pitch (ala the huge punchout game he had against the D'Backs... I think), only to fiercely let you down (last week's blowout.)

Yippieee we made it through the 8th. It was close but a big double played killed the rally. One more inning for a one game winning streak

We would then be half way to our first back to back wins of the month. Parade time?

Was thinking the same thing. He has moments of brilliance and them BAM he gets crushed. Hope he has streak of good starts now, in this division a 5 game winning streak can get you right back in the race.

Do you let Lohse start the 9th or bring in Weathers. I am only watching on Gameday so I am not sure if he is still pitching strong.

I'd go to Weathers, he has been nails when we needed him to be.

And it's awesome with a capital A that I forgot to include that Ed E is hitting.

Great day for Lohse. maybe a sign of things to come, and The BP got a complete day off.
1 in a row. The sad thing 2-6 on the home stand againt the Nationals and Pirates aaggghhhh

Supposedly Pole is a big believer in Lohse and has a good relationship with him, maybe he got him in line for this start? I do think the illness played a large part in his disastrous last start, but obviously consistency is Lohse's biggest foe.

Great game though and at least the fans in Cincy on this holiday got to leave with a smile. It's still sad to think how much better we would be feeling had we capitalized on this 8 game homestand.
