Reds sticks vs LHP; YUCK!
The Reds have a .202 BA this season vs lefties. Lets look at how much our three right handed bats contribute to the lackluster offense.
EdE vs lefties: .136 BA/.269 SLG/.182 OBP
BP vs lefties: .238 BA/ .333 OBP/ .286 SLG
Ross vs lefties .071 BA/ .063 OBP/ .071 SLG
These three are supposed to be the brunt of the offense when facing left handed pitching and are a big reason why we cannot win against lefties.
Here are the scores when facing a left handed starter.
1-4 L vs Lilly (1 ER vs Lilly)
6-1 W vs Maholm (3 ER vs Maholm)
3-6 L vs Duke (3 ER vs Duke)
0-7 L vs Hill (0 ER vs Hill)
1-0 W vs Lilly (1 ER vs Lilly)
6-10 L vs Capuano (0 ER vs Capuano)
1-4 L vs Hamels (1 ER vs Hamels)
That gets us at a 2-5 clip vs lefties. We have scored a grand total of 9 earned runs in 7 games vs these left handed pitchers. That is atrocious. The lack of hitting from these key right handed bats reflect discredit upon the team as a whole.
Either they pick it up, or we choke it up as a loss nearly every time the opposing manger puts a left handed pitcher on the mound.
