Stat to keep track of

Ok, I was thinking today that there are many stats that you cannot find on the internet ie how many times Dunn Ks in a clutch situation. If you guys wanted to throw up any suggestions, I am planning on watching 90% of the Reds games this year and with your help, we could keep a running tab on stats like this.

If you guys want, lets put together a list of 3-5 things to keep track of during the game and we could try and keep a nice tab on this. So what are some things that would be nice to know when talking about how clutch a player is or isn't or how so and so does this often in this situation? Keep in mind, we are talking about things that are not found anywhere else.

List your thoughts.

How often a player Ks with RISP.

I think you hit the nail on the head with the clutch stat. That will be the success or downfall of this team. Imagine if they had key hits last season, they could have won at least 5 more games.

I would want to see a stat where guys unable to move runners over as well. I really don't care if Dunn Ks with bases empty, no outs. But it drives you nuts when there is a man on 2nd no outs and he just can't pull a ground ball. So basically performance with runner(s) in scoring position is what I would like to see.

Yes, clutch is overrated. But driving in runs isn't. So thats why I said the ability to move runners in scoring position.

I guess its pretty sad the only thing I can think of is how often a player fails, but I just thought of another possible. How about errors that are called hits or the very rare hits that are called errors? I don't know if that's really interesting, but its a thought.

OT: Phillips hit a 2 run shot today. He has come out swinging well so far. Hopefully he continues throughout the season.

yeah but how often do runners advance on a Strikeout.. if you have a runner on 3rd base with 1 out putting the ball in play is a lot more important then a strike out

Reds already sinking. Cards rising. Good outings from guys like Kip Wells and Looper(more Jocketty "peak" players?). Clutch hitting to win tonight's game.

Reds get a poor start from Lohse and no clutch hitting for the second straight game.

I know which team I'd count on right now to get it done in the big games over the course of the season.
