This is a tough vote. Ed E's development this season has likely been hindered by the fact of Narron's misuse of him and his injury, but his stats tell his value in addition to the fact that he is often clutch when we need it. On the otherhand Bronson was a HUGE early boost for this club and might of been the spark to start the fire for this team. Obviously he has dropped off signficantly from his once potential Cy Young numbers, but he could be on the rebound again. I really can't feel justified voting either way because both have brought value to this hunt, but if a vote is needed it's for Bronson as I believe if Ed E would of had a fair shake (and would of not had been held down in AAA so long for apparently no reason), I think his value would edge Arroyo's.

this is no contest to me, but I have to go with Freel here.

Freel had consideration and while he isn't near the offensive player Edwin has been (considering the slugging he has done in limited AB's), his D gives him a bit more time in my books. The fact that he has made gold glove caliber plays from several positions and can do it sometimes a night after from one position to the next is amazing to me. I really think Freel is the heart of this team and even though you can't measure that with a number, it has it's impact. Think about all the times Narron or this organization in general acted like Freel really wasn't that essential to everyday play, yet he never stopped going the distance when he was on the field. I am not saying he is the most valuable of course, that's just my thoughts on it. And probably if Edwin would of saw more AB's (especially without his injury and delayed callup), I would of been considering Freel vs Arroyo.

(Eh, it's kind of weird for me to be arguing for Freel when usually I would always argue for the statistically dominant player. I guess I am getting old. Ha.)

I love Freel too, and I agree that he is the heart of this team. He plays all out and we all know this. I guess I am considering EdE as the better player because of his ceiling. I also like Arroyo better because as you suggested, if it were not for him, we would not be in the position we are in right now. He has been the biggest boost to this club this season and he is higher up on the "need" list for me than Freel.

Freel deserves to be in the top 5, as he is, but I think he is the odd man out considering the other 4. Oh yeah, and just wait until you see who I would be picking next.
