Lofton grounds out to Phillips. 1-2-3 for Weathers. Narron is lucky there.

    Another ugly one.

We could be well out of the Wild Card lead very shortly. We desperately need a win tomorrow night if the game gets played(severe storms are quite possible). I will be there if the game doesn't get rained out.

Did I mention that the team needed to address the rotation more than they did? It could very well be our downfall, which doesn't surprise me at all.

More than they did? They didn't at all. Well besides Krivsky's sneaky move about Lohse. I can gurantee you he acquired him knowing that he could be defended by many (or reluctantly accepting it like myself) due to Lohse's numbers as a reliever. "Hey, he helped the pen, I can't argue with that" was probably the thoughts of many. Claussen wouldn't work out if he made it to the MLB level, Germano is gone and he doesn't seemed tempted to do anything with Dumatrait, so "oh well", it's Lohse time. Not to say that he didn't want a guy like Oswalt if he could of got it, but that in terms of a marginal 5th starter, he was more than happy to go with an ex-Twin. I hope Lohse proves me wrong and all, but the move just seemed to reek of Dan O's love for Jason Romano. Blind loyalty.

Yeah, I agree with all of that mission.

And what's also sad is that Clayton continues to play despite numerous poor defensive plays to go along with his awful hitting. His high throw last night didn't earn him even a small trip to the bench. If Edwin had been playing like Clayton had defensively for the last week, he would be on the bench for weeks in all likelyhood. Narron's double-standard is beyond sickening at this point.

Brad Penny is just a great 6-inning pitcher.

Ah yes, the double standard. I actually only read part of your post before getting up for a minute, but those were the words I was thinking before returning.

This is a sickening problem we are faced with. We could improve our chances with a logical manager who chooses to play the right players (what a concept) or if we had a general manager who traded for upgrades at the key areas of weakness. The sad thing about all this is we may very well throw this chance away, not receive near the boost in payroll a playoff appearance would warrant from RCast (I don't think the looser spending will come like we had hoped) and we did all that with losing two key pieces to our future. Due to the trades and somewhat by choice "Jerry's Choice" we have gone from a young core to an aging, on the wrong side of 30 team. Really the prospects for this current team is not good unless we had a radical manager, but we don't. In Reds Country, the old school way is both bought and sold, the problem is that way is not neccessarily bad, but it is when you have a manager oblivious to the facts.

Ed E is a rising talent, there is no question about that.
Ryan Freel is an ideal leadoff man, perhaps one of the BEST in the game.
Brandon Phillips is young and athletic with a shortstop arm. He can play SS.
Deno shows incredible range and has earned a chance to play everyday with his near .350 BA in AAA, yet he doesn't receive it.
When Griffey is slumping, it doesn't make sense to bat him in the vital 3rd spot.
Aurilia hits lefties, he hits them damn good. You can say the same thing about Hatteberg and righties.
David Ross is the starting catcher, period.
Royce Clayton is NOT a leadoff hitter. His defense is marginal at best, with the Reds I could think of a lot more offensive words to use to describe it.

Whether it's by pure viewing with the human eyeball or looking at a stat book, both sides would agree on these. Not to mention the usage of pinch-hitters, the relievers, among many others. The sad thing is, if he does change, I think it will be too late.

I know this was only three games, but let's be real about. Anytime we get a chance to skyrocket to the top, we blow it. Sure it's luck that other teams are tanking when we are, but we can't count on that, it will catch up to us. Just like the Wild Card is starting to become an even closer race.

I think you hit everything needed on why Narron needs to go. I love that post as it breaks down everything that warrants his dismissal. Again, why is it that only fans see this?

You can read from anywhere else on the net. Listen to the call ins on the radio and see that 99% of the fans view it just like this. So why do we keep getting unlucky and receiving managers that manage with their hearts instead of their brain.

This team does not win because of Narron, they win in spite of him.
