I don't think Krivsky likes Felipe's defense very much.

I think he wants Phillips to be the SS of the future. The part that scares me is the idea that he could remain at 2B and Royce Clayton heading to SS.

im with fishercat on this one.. this is a bad deal.. bowden got some revenge on us and raped us again.

Kearns is now finally showing that his injury problems were fluke injuries not a problem with his durability
Lopez's 2006=fluke not 2005 time will tell on this one, i am telling you.. since he came up the ? mark with him was his Defense, his offense of talent was always there.. and like a lot of players they have first half of seasons like this.. Brandon Phillips(who i am going to assume is now the SS) is the guy having the fluke year.. he has never done anything prior to this year that would make me believe that he is going to be like this for his career.

I am not upset about Kearns, I knew he would be moved he was of value, and Lopez's name had been kicked around, but both gone i would like a lot more than what we got.. Wags well he isn't doing anything for us right now and may never do anything for us, so who cares..

I was mad about the Pena deal because i was a huge Pena fan, that deal worked out.. but like someone said he was a proven pitcher, these guys at best we get one proven Middle relief pitcher.. i am very well aware that in order to get a good MR we would have to give up some.. hell I would rather give up Kearns straight up for Majewski than for this deal.

I really hope these guys work out.. the team needs a boost. i am a little pissed off right now about it.. but time will have to tell on teh deal.. but as of right now its a horrible deal

You know what I really love about this deal, that we trade our two only viable offensive pieces (unless you want to decimate the little bit of offense we have left) and we can't even get a ****ing starter in the deal.

Enjoy the Dunn deal at the deadline, I know I won't.

Kearns says: "These guys haven't been afraid to make a move."

"It will be tough to leave a lot of guys. You spend more time with these guys than your family."

"You just turn the page and start something new. I enjoyed here but am looking forward to my time in Washington."

The presser is coming up shortly...

I will be beyond stunned and shocked if I hear that Freel will get a starting role like he deserves. Like jaw dropping stunned.

That's why Narron being the manager could be the worst part. I really fear what we could see.

They won't be up today(new pitchers) but tomorrow. Denorfia and Bergolla up for tonight's game.

Perhaps the one thing that bothers me most about it is the best case scenario results for the Reds

    A quality RP (Majewski)
A very nice RP for the next six years cost controlled (Bray)
A nice utility man or a decent starting MI (Harris)
A league average pitcher (Thompson has a comparison to Oil Can Boyd)
    Royce Clayton

Seriously, if the best case scenario pans out, you got two MLB RPs, a #3-#4 starter, and a lower-end of the league starting 2B for a middle-upper end starting SS, a potential laden but completely lost RP, and a Top 30-40 OFer (Top 15 at his position most likely). With the best possible scenario, it may be a fair trade. And what are the odds that happens?

Then out of fairness to the others you will be Slagathor.

Johansen: "Why does this keep you in the race?"

"I think anyone who has seen us play in the first half has seen that our bullpen is a little rough place. It is very difficult to get guys like Bray(23) and Majewski in the pen. We think we helped our defense at SS, but primarily this was to address our bullpen."(Krivsky)

    Krivsky:

"Jim and I just started talking on Friday."

    Scouting report?

"Majwewski is a power type reliever. Very aggressive. Low to mid 90s stuff. Hard slider."

"Bray... 90 to 94. Deception in delivery. Tough slider. Tough to pick up. He's not just a situation guy Jerry can just use on lefties."

So, essentially, Krivsky just said that Bowden bent him over a table and had his way with him. The crap about Majewski and Bray is garbage, plain and simple.

Is Clayton a FA after the end of the season? I sure hope so.

I guarantee the Reds won't make another move before the deadline. Guarantee it!!!

I tell you one thing, Jim Bowden probably saved his job with this deal!

Ah, delightful. Royce Clayton is now a starting player. .315 OBP at the top of the order, you all know that's coming up soon.

You better hope they don't. We got Dunn, Ed E, and Phillips left basically... ugh. And Freel who they would probably give away given their respect, or lack there of, for him.

In OOTP Terms, what is this

    3.0-3.5 OF
    3.0-3.5 SS
2.5-3.0 prospect CL (depends if you think Wags is shot or not)

    for

    1.0-1.5 2B/3B/SS
    1.5-2.0 2B/SS
    3.0 prospect SP
    4.0 prospect CL
    3.5 RP

    Does that sound about right?
