home field didn't help the Yankees last year, did it? It's not all it's cracked up to be...and the Wild Card has won the World Series the last 3 years...so maybe they wanna be the Wild Card

Home field doesn't always get you the wins but don't think it isn't on their minds. Everyone wants home field advantage. Would you rather sleep in someone else's bed or your own?

Magic number is down to 5. This could be over before the Sox even show up at the Jake.

In any case (other than an Indians sweep of the DRays), it's very possible that the Sox clinch before setting foot in Cleveland.

i hope the soxs blow it! They blew a close to 20 game lead at one time over the Indians. Twins should have played better and swept the indians and we would still be in the race as well.

Anyways the White Soxs will blow it. Go Tribe..

Well, a win tommorow answers the question this thread posed with an emphatic NO! Even though the Indians could still win and put the magic number at 1 (that is if the White Sox win), they would have to win out to keep it that way. If that were to happen, both teams would be 96-66, and since the loser of the division would be entitled to the wild card spot, the White Sox would win the Central due to holding the advatage in the season series. For now, the magic number stands at 2.

looks like you got it backwards as not only did the Sox not blow it, but the Indians may blow it if the Sox win today or the Indians lose. The only way the Indians get in is if they win and the Sox lose...that would force a 1 game playoff with the Sox. Looks like the Indians are going to blow it (at the hand of the White Sox as they may get swept at home)

Indians came close but ran out of steam in the end. It sucks but they will just have to wait til next year.
