White Sox signed RHP Sergio Santos to a three-year, $8.25 million contract extension.
The contract includes three guaranteed years (including his first two years of arbitration) and club options from 2015-2017. He'll make $1 million next season, $2.75 million in 2013 and $3.75 million in 2014. Meanwhile, the team options include $6 million for 2015, $8 million for 2016 an $8.75 million for 2017. Santos, a former infielder, thrived after unexpectedly being thrust into the closer role earlier this season, posting a 3.55 ERA, 30 saves and a 92/29 K/BB ratio over 63 1/3 innings. Assuming the 28-year-old right-hander remains healthy, this could be a great deal for the White Sox.
