Mark Buehrle, already having thrown a no-hitter in his career, one upped himself today by throwing the 16th perfect game in MLB history. Not only that, but it's the 2nd no-hitter of the season, after Jonathan Sanchez's.
Amazing game by Buehrle, congratulations to him.
Congrats to Buehrle. It's been a while since the last one, no?

Dwayne Wise had a HR saving catch to save the shutout that will be replayed two thousand times over the next week, too.
We'll use your thread Witlon.
And Yeah, general, there've only been 17 in history, and I think the last one was Randy Johnson back with the D-Backs...
First Sox perfect game since 1922, I believe.

And probably one of the weirdest stats of all...the last two catchers to catch perfect games...
Robby Hammock and Ramon Castro.
Huh!?!?
Amazing, amazing job Buehrle! 1st PG since 04!
Congrats to him.
He'll have a long and successful career.
Buehrle might get to 250 wins when he retires if he sticks around long enough. Outside shot at 300 since he isn't really a power pitcher and might last longer than most.

He was talking about retiring as soon as a his current contract is up, so 250 seems out of the realm.
He's not gonna retire.

What a great career this guy is having, and hopefully it continues. I really hope he doesn't retire. It's great to see him pitch when he's on. He does have those days where he blows nuts, but he's a fun pitcher to watch when he's got it.
