2014 Predictions
Baez gets the call around late June and takes over 2B full time.
I was off by a month and got the position right!
Bryant dominates AA pitching and finds himself in AAA to finish the season. Fans will be pissed when he doesn't get a September Call Up.
Should have added 'and also when he doesn't get the OD nod'!
Olt has a 'meh' Spring and ultimately splits time at 1B/3B in Iowa. He puts up decent numbers and finds himself in the majors in September.
Olt spent the entire year in Chicago and did pretty much nothing. His defense is looking pretty good though.
Shark continues to put up mediocre numbers despite good looking peripherals. Traded to contending club for a top flight pitching prospect.
Trade pitching prospect for infield prospect and it's pretty spot on. I'll take being wrong though, I still get to have Addison Russell!
2015 Predictions
Biggest topic in Chicago: Kris Bryant. When does he get the call? ROY?
My prediction: Everyone thinks he's going to get called up the day the Cubs gain that extra year. I think it'll happen a week after. He'll stay in the Majors all season and put up a slash around 260/330/550 26 HRs. He'll split time between 3B/LF throughtout the season. He's a hot pick for ROY this year, but I think it goes to one of his teammates.. (Soler)
What about Javy? He's back in AAA. Does he get the call again in 2015? When?
My prediction: He'll be back in Chicago in 2015. I think he'll either come up with Bryant, or a few weeks after. Maddon raves about Javy's glove/hustle. He's still going to strike out a lot, but get it closer to the 30% range. Will hit some monster shots too.
Record/Postseason?
My prediction: 89-73. Cubs get hot late as Cards struggle, snag up the division crown by just a game or two. Lose in Division Series, but not swept.
