Chicago Cubs' Kerry Wood retiring, source says - ESPN Chicago

Sucks to see a 34 year old retire early like this, especially someone so beloved in Chicago. I have friends that are huge Cubs fans and their facebook pages have already become tributes to Wood. The former ROY earned just under $71 million in his 14 season career. I'll never forget that 20 K game he threw and is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear his name. I'm sure he will find a cushy job somewhere in the Cubs organization.

Kinda bummed, not gonna lie. I wish things had been a little different for he and Mark Prior.
