I realize that Demp really pulled one over, but it's no reason to hate the guy. He has his 10/5 rights. He'll go where he wants to go. I think we'll still get a good package for him come deadline.

I didn't see this post till now so late response. I'm all for a player using his 10/5 rights. Never had an issues with that aspect. I had a HUGE issue with Dempster saying "I'll go to Atlanta" and then saying no when the deal got made. It put a lot of egg on Theo and Hoyer's face. Not only did it screw them out of a great deal. It DESTROYED any leverage the Cubs had with L.A. to get a deal done. So in the end Dempster only screwed himself. Had he been honest with them that it was LA or bust from the get go. He may have actually wound up in L.A. Instead he's getting rocked in the AL. No problem with a guy picking where they want to go. Screwing over the Cubs that badly is another matter.
