Apparently the Cubs are close to a trade that would send Sean Marshall to the Reds for Travis Wood and prospects.

The prospects in the trade weren't anything too special. However, I still believe the Cubs won that deal.

In minor news, the Cubs signed Manny Corpas to a one year deal.

Who?... I kid. I doubt the salary for 2012 is anything substantial. Should provide some depth to the bullpen.

I've been getting mixed reactions on the prospects. Some are high on Sappalt and some think he won't be anything more than a 4th OF.

Other Cubs fans seem to be high on the 2B we got. Can't remember his name though.

Yeah, he wasn't high in the the offer. Sappelt hit either over .500 or over .600 in spring last season

Seeing some interesting tweets on Garza:

As others are reporting, Garza trade talks are heating up. #Cubs could make a move within 48 hours. Tigers, Red Sox, Yankees involved.

#BlueJays and #Tigers are seen as frontrunners for Garza as we come to the home stretch.

#Cubs source tells me that he thinks a trade of Garza will happen within 24 hours. "Definitely gaining momentum" he said.

Wouldn't specify what team but source said they are "down to a couple" I'm speculating the #BlueJays #Tigers and #Yankees are furthest along

I keep hearing the #Tigers in relation to Garza. As of now, that would be my guess.

I fucking love it. Having those three teams pushing hard only means fantastic things for the Cubs farm system!

Losing Garza will sting a bit, as I have grown quite fond of the righty, but our farm needs this deal to happen.

Add in that one. This could get crazy here. Banuelos is a very solid prospect.
