#Cubs manager Mike Quade: "Defense is so important." He's unhappy with his middle infield. Rips young guys. Quade needs to call out vets.
    http://twitter.com/#!/ChrisDeLuca/status/93798901437566977

"I look back at this whole game and look at that play," Quade says of Castro play. "The sun's been in the same damn spot..." #Cubs
    http://twitter.com/#!/BruceMiles2112/status/93807406508814336

Then he goes on to praise the 'vets'.

I haven't seen the play(s), but singling out the kids isn't the way to go, Quade. Pena is supposed to be a veteran, but he had two errors. How about Soriano being absolute crap for over a month? What about Soto not showing up this season? Maybe Dempster and Zambrano not holding their own in the rotation? He should be calling himself out as well with all of the questionable calls he's made.

You win as a team, you lose as a team, dumbass.

The Cubs are making Houston look like a decent team.

It is what it is. He's a rookie manager with zero major league playing experience trying to fit in. It's no surprise he sides with the vets.

It didn't surprise me, it just pissed me off. The season is already in the toilet, there's no need to call out Castro because he lost a ball in the sun.

Aramis Ramirez hinted Thursday that he might be open to waiving his no-trade clause.
A-Ram had previously stated that he would not waive the no-trade clause this month because of family reasons, but he reversed course a bit on Thursday afternoon. "Nobody wants me, man. They want good players," said the third baseman. "If they come to me with a trade, we’ll see. But nobody has talked to me about it." The Angels were known to have interest a few weeks ago.
I hope he does leave for the Cubs sake. Cubs can get something of value for him and save some money in the process. ARam would have to waive a clause in his contract that kicks in if he's traded but that shouldn't be a problem. The Angels would be a good fit for them as would a return to the Pirates.

I'm still on the fence with him. While we could get a nice return for him, we really don't have many options to replace him. He would leave a giant hole in our lineup.

I wouldn't mind seeing the reds join the aramis sweepstakes. They really don't have a 3B after Rolen.

    Frazier/Franscisco not gonna pan out

    Re: Wait til next year...

From what I've been reading over the weekend, Hendry was telling other teams that players like Pena, Baker, Marmol, and Marshall were unavailble.

Not moving Pena makes me think they are really thinking about signing him to an extension. I wouldn't be totally against that if we were to also retain Ramirez, trade for a LEGIT RF, and either sign or trade for another SP that meets or exceeds Garza's talents.
