I hate backloaded contracts. While it saves us a few mil this year, it clogs up payroll for the next two. With the state of this franchise, I think a Sam Fuld or Tyler Colvin/Reed Johnson platoon would have been just fine.

This is the last year the Cubs have to put a championship season together. At least for the team they are currently tied to.

I don't think Tyler Colvin has even played in AAA yet. The last thing we want is to rush him up like we do to every other OFs we had.

I guess it's an alright signing. Never really followed Marlon Byrd, so don't really know him except the name. It seems like he will be a better player (off field) wise than Bradley.
