Cubs @ D-Backs - 4/4 *Opening Day* - Game Thread

Wooooo finally time for the new year.

Patterson leads off for the Cubs and singles to center. Great start.

Patterson takes 2nd on a Wild Pitch. This is why we have him batting 1st .

Walker hit one nicely to center but it was caught. Patterson does advance to 3rd though. Nomar has a chance for RBI #1 now.

Nomar bounces it to 3rd and Corey scores to make it 1-0 Cubs. Great start to the year. Aramis up to the plate now with his brand new contract .

Aramis lines a single just past the diving SS. Vasquez hasn't looked very good at all. A few wild pitches and some hard hits. Burnitz up now for his first Cubs AB.

Burnitz lines one to right-center and Aramis goes to 3rd. Great opening inning. Derek Lee is up now.

Lee singles to left-center. Aramis scores Burnitz to 2nd. Vasquez stinks today. If Zombrano is good at all we should be able to take this easily. Hollandsworth up getting the opening day start .

Hollandsworth is K #1 for the year. Good inning. 2 runs on 4 hits.

Counsell hits one to shallow right and Burnitz gets it. Nice start for Z.

Nice grounder to Nomar for out #2. Luis Gonzalez up now. Didn't realize he could still hit #3 lol.

Gonzo K's and Z has a perfect first. Up next will be Barett, Z, and then Patterson.

Zambrano pulls one down the 1B line and he doubles. Nice job there. Patterson up in a scoring situtation. Wouldn't surprise me to see him bunt though.

Nope he didn't bunt (good idea) he singled to center and Zombrano scored. Walker up now let's keep this going.

Walker grounds a hit to RF and Patterson wasn't going and only get's to 2nd. Nomar up with another chance for an RBI. Vasquez is VERY bad today.
