Decided I would look up and see if Dusty Baker really destroyed these two young guys' arms as Cubs manager...the results were astonishing. But check out the initals of D.B. because Don Baylor KILLED Wood in 01 and 02

First off, 2001: Kerry Wood 2001 Pitching Gamelogs - Baseball-Reference PI
24 out of 28 starts with over 100 pitches. One stretch of 21 starts in a row with over 100.

In 2002:

Not as bad, but still 20 out of 33 with over 100.

And then 2003:

Pitched over 114 in his last 6 games and 120 in 5 of those 6. Pitched 141 and 130 in games. 25 outta 32 with over 100.

Livan Hernandez, since 2000 has had 3 streaks of 18+ consecutive appearances with each one being 100+ pitches.

they didn't realize what they were doing to their arms, that's what gives. they were probably either rubber or amputated after their careers, because they would be pretty much useless

kerry wood was used and abused in the minors and even in high school (remember hearing the stories of him pitching both ends of a doubleheader in high school?)

Riggleman used him tons in 98.
