he has no structural damage, yet he needs to go on the DL. figures. Guzman is called up to take his place.

Does Wood hold the all-time record for most visits to the DL?

Someone might want to tell Mr. Toothpick Wristband-Wearer he screwed up Kerry Wood for life!

Wood is on the DL so much that he hardly gets any work in throwing, or side sessions. In turn, the strength in stamina in his arm and shoulder is terrible, and he has this pain in it, from overexerting his muscles. He was on the way to recovery the year Dusty Baker came in. Baker abused him in 2003 (like he does most of the pitchers he comes near) and now Wood hasn't been the same.

    think before you speak.

edit: sorry, but you may want to blame riggleman, first. he was the one who had him throw 10 times over 120 pitches as a 20 year old. that wasnt baker. besides, it was only a matter of time before he got hurt again since he doesnt drive enough with his legs and uses his upper body too much with his pitches.

We are 100% in agreement here. Wood has major surgery long before Baker was there. You cannot abuse a kid like that just out of the minors even if he does strike out 20 in one game!

Yeah, but you can't abuse a player AFTER he has had surgery and countless other ailments either. That's on Baker!

Baker came some three years after his surgery! The year before Baker even got there, Wood had his career high in IP!

no its not, genius. you go with what brought you to the dance. as Reefer said, he was throwing more innings before baker got there.

quite simply, he's a player who just cant stay healthy, and he's been that way since 1996 when he was in the minors.
