    Kerry Wood back on Thursday!

    The Cubs plan to activate pitcher Kerry Wood for a start against the Nationals on Thursday. Wood has been on the disabled list all season. He underwent right shoulder surgery last August. Wood has appeared in two rookie games and made two minor league rehab starts. "Physically, I feel pretty good," he told MLB.com. "I think it'll progress. I don't think we'll be throwing 120, 130 [pitches] this year but it'll keep going as long as I keep pitching." Wood will throw a side session on Sunday.
